I haven't had all that much coding time lately, but I had a lot time to think, so I came up with some serious re-architecting of the way e handles syntax parsing and loading. The resulting changes should result in a major speedup of startup time and opening new documents. This affects a lot of syntax related code, so let me know if you encounter any problems.
- Major speed improvements on startup and opening new documents.
- Updated regex engine to PCRE 7.6
- Fixed problem with unicode in env strings.
- Updated with latest bundles from ebundles.
The latest release can be downloaded at:

| I always like to see speed improvements on startup. Thanks. From fresh launch, I'm getting about 11 seconds. A relaunch is only 1 second or less. |

Insert Open/Close Tag (With Current Word) is still losing the first 6 characters. This makes me sad
EDIT Turns out I just had an old HTML bundle in my appdata folder, works now, yay |

| i noticed you don't update the RSS feed for updates, or the homepage download link label for the right version. is that something you'll do only for major releases? i like the blog/RSS idea to know when to come download an update and check the forums, rather than periodic polling. |

| As soon as I installed 1.17... e crashes at launch everytime. I'm Vista with a previous working version of 1.15. Does anyone have a link for 1.15? Hopefully it will work if I got back a version. |

For updates with lots of internal changes, I usually first post it on the forum so that I can get some feedback from experienced users. This gives me a small window to fix any serious regressions before they go into general use.

Broken? I just tested and all of them works for me, so the files are there. Something else must be causing the downloads to fail for you... |

Php syntax is even more broken than it was before. I'd say more or less nothing works as expected.
And here I was hoping this update would fix the long-standing issue of broken php syntax! (Docblocks still breaks the syntax coloring as well) |

Hello,
I've just upgraded to version 1.0.17 and it's working just fine on my Windows XP machine. But when I press ALT+E to check for a new version it says "Newer version than 1.0.17 exists" altough that is not the case...
Anyone else got this? Regards,
Guido |
